News | UNESCO Dolomites training courses, enrolment now open

19 October 2015

Online enrolment is possible for “Corso per amministratori. La gestione di un Patrimonio naturale UNESCO. Governo, partecipazione e comunicazione” (Course for Administrators. Managing a UNESCO World Heritage Site: management, values and communications) and “Corso per opinion leaders. Riconoscere un Patrimonio naturale UNESCO: cultura, valori e comunicazione” (Course for Opinion-Leaders: Recognising a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site: culture, values and communications) both devised by the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation Research and Education Network and organised by the Autonomous Province of Trento at the UNESCO section of the Trentino School of Management, STEP Department.

Both courses run during November and December of this year.

The first course of seminars, with places for 15 local administrators of the UNESCO Dolomites, aims to update their governance skills with a particular focus on developing strategies for enhancing the value of the UNESCO listing of the Dolomites.

The second course will take 15 opinion-leaders, for example representatives of regional tourism promotion bodies and other associations or business operators. The aim is to help them reflect on what it means for the Dolomites to be a World Heritage Site, concentrating on its distinctive features and providing methods and tools for ensuring knowledge of these is circulated effectively.

Enrolment is also open, until 10 December 2015, for the fourth edition of the World Natural Heritage Management course organised by the Autonomous Province of Trento at the Trentino School of Management, STEP Department, UNESCO section, in partnership with Turin University, the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation, MUSE (Trento Science Museum) and the Arte Sella Association.

The course, which runs from 13 January to 9 December 2016, focuses on knowledge and management of natural properties, the Dolomites and other mountain areas, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 15 places are available on the course.
