Dolomiti Days 2016
August’s events are now online, join us as we explore the Friulane and d’Oltre Piave Dolomites!
This summer Dolomiti Days 2016 provides two great opportunities for lovers of the Friulane and d’Oltre Piave Dolomites! The event was conceived to broaden the sense of belonging to this unique area with its exceptionally natural landscape and breathtaking beauty.
To mark the seventh anniversary of the inscription of the Dolomites as a World Heritage Site, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the provinces of Pordenone and Udine are organising Dolomiti Days 2016 and would like to thank the local authorities, the Dolomiti Friulane Natural Park, the Mountain Community of Friuli Occidentale and local institutions and associations for running the scheduled events.
Friday 5 August
An excursion is scheduled for Friday 5 August in conjunction with the Associazione Guide Dolomiti Friulane. It will leave from the Pordenone Refuge for Cason dei Pecoli, Marchi Granzotto hut (where walkers can turn round and go back along the same route), Forcella del Leone and Monfalconi di Cimoliana, arriving back at the Pordenone Refuge.
The difference in height will be approximately 1,050 metres, the route is long and of medium difficulty and for fit walkers, it will last 7-8 hours.
Meeting point: 7.00 am at the headquarters of the Dolomiti Friulane Park in Cimolais
Return to Cimolais (4.00-4.30 pm)

The excursion will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.

Friday 19 August
The second excursion in conjunction with the Associazione Guide Dolomiti Friulane is scheduled for Friday 19 August. It will leave from the Pordenone Refuge for Forcella Lama, Forcella Savalons, Bregolina Grande and back again. There is less difference in height this time (around 600 metres), the route is of medium difficulty and for fit walkers, lasting 6-7 hours.
Meeting point: 7.00 am at the headquarters of the Dolomiti Friulane Park in Cimolais
Return to Cimolais (3.00 pm)
