Created to guide visitors in their appreciation of the scenic, anthropic and geological value of the Dolomites, some “Incontri d’Alt(r)a Quota” have already taken place this year at the Città di Fiume Mountain Hut with writer Matteo Righetto and at the Pordenone Mountain Hut with chef Alessandro Gilmozzi.

The next events will take place in September with two treks, when hikers guided by experts and professionals en route can share in another unique experience – enjoyment, exhilaration and fatigue guaranteed! And of course, no “Incontri d’Alt(r)a Quota” would be complete without involving those irreplaceable points of reference, the mountain hut managers, as well.
Paint the Dolomites at
Lake Antermoia on 10 September
“Acquerello vista Lago” is the title of the event scheduled for 10 September at the Antermoia Mountain Hut (TN) with painter Silvia De Bastiani who will let participants in on the secrets of her highly appreciated watercolours. The itinerary begins with participants departing from Val Duron (TN) at 8:00 sharp, accompanied by guide Luciano Gadenz from the Aquile di San Martino mountaineering school. The path winds through Ciaregole Pass and Dona Pass, arriving at the mountain hut after about four hours of walking. This is where the Dolomites painting workshop with Silvia De Bastiani will take place. The return hike to the valley is scheduled for 14:30.
Capture moments of light at
the Alpe di Tires, 18-19 September
The protagonist of this final event will be light itself as captured by the participants with their cameras under the tutelage of Moreno Geremetta, a supporting photographer of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 18 September at 7:45 in Tires. From there, we will travel to the Alpe di Siusi by bus and cable car. Our hike to the Alpe di Tires Mountain Hut will begin from there and, after lunch, we will continue to the Cima di Terrarossa. After capturing some shots of the sunset, we will return to the mountain hut for our overnight stay. The encounter will end the following day with a trek from Passo Molignon to the Bergamo Mountain Hut between the peaks of Principe and Valbona, through the Ciamin valley. Finally, we will return to San Cipriano, in the municipality of Tires, with its view of the Rosengarten group massif.
