Call for scientific research posters at Forum Alpinum

“ForumAlpinum” is a scientific conference aiming to promote international research cooperation on topics of relevance across the entire Alpine Arc. This year it will take place in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, from the 12th to 14th of June. Students and young early-career researchers are invited to present posters with their research findings on bio- and geodiversity and the alpine environment.

The 2024 edition of the conference, titled «The Alps – a Refuge of Bio- and Geodiversity?» will focus on biodiversity and geodiversity, which are under a severe threat worldwide and especially in sensitive ecosystems like the Alps. It will identify hotspots of bio- and geodiversity, their monitoring and management in the Alps, analyse land use conflicts and their impact on bio- and geodiversity, and assess the relevance of bio- and geodiversity protection in the regional, national or international context to discuss possible solutions.

This year, students and young and early-career researchers from various scientific disciplines, are invited to present posters with their research findings relating and relevant to the Alps. Poster topics may relate to the conference theme of bio- and geodiversity, but contributions on other alpine topics are very welcome as well. Poster presentations are particularly suitable to present work in progress and foster discussions and exchange, creating the opportunity to discuss findings and establish contacts with researchers from other European countries.

To enroll, send a poster abstract and contact information by May 10th at the following link: Young Forum Alpinum 2024: Call for posters.
