Brenta OPEN: 10 years of mountain inclusivity
The ten-year experience of Brenta Open crosses another border or, to put it better, crosses several Dolomite valleys and reaches Cortina. The Cinque Torri (Five Towers) will in fact be the setting for the first edition of “Cortina Open”, which will take place on 12 and 13 July at the Scoiattoli mountain hut, thanks to the collaboration between Dolomites Open and CortinaSenzaConfini, an association established with the aim of helping Cortina d’Ampezzo being recognised as an example of inclusion and to stimulate new ideas on accessibility, in view of the Milan 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

As stated by the organisers: “A community asset such as the Dolomites, recognised as such by UNESCO Dolomites in 2009, only truly belongs to humanity if it becomes accessible to all: this is the transversal social message that we want to promote with the initiative. Accessibility that places the individual and their will at the centre. A will capable of making natural places accessible, where seemingly insurmountable barriers give rise to innovative and unexpected solutions. Everyone will be a protagonist, ideally united by the concert from the peaks, which brings all participants together in a great embrace The Dolomites will be the open-air theatre for this great inclusive event.”
This activity is part of the project “Capacity building. Strengthening the social and regional capital of the Dolomites World Heritage Site (WHS) for lasting and sustainable development of local communities”, established with the support of Fondo Comuni Confinanti.
